105th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Luncheon

All alumni and friends are cordially invited to the 105th Anniversary Alumni Reunion Luncheon on Sunday, October 5, 2014. The day will begin with the celebration of the 12:30 P.M. Mass followed by a luncheon in the school auditorium. We will recognize Sister Theresa Scanlon on her retirement after 28 years as principal of SFA. Sister Theresa has truly been a blessing to our school! We truly urge all alumni to take this opportunity to thank Sister Theresa for her many years of devotion to SFA. You will also have the chance to meet the new principal, Ms. Danielle Gonzalez and attend the official dedication of the SFA Memorial Garden.

The donation for the luncheon is $50. Please make your check payable to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy and mail to the school at 400 Lincoln Road, Brooklyn, NY 11225.

Dedication of the SFA Memorial Garden

The dedication of the SFA Memorial Garden is planned for Sunday, October 5, 2014, during the 105th Alumni Reunion Luncheon. The Memorial Garden will be located on the front lawn of the school on Lincoln Road. You now have the opportunity to have a memorial brick engraved in memory of a loved one and placed in the garden. What a wonderful way to remember relatives, friends and classmates, and have them become part of the lasting legacy of St. Francis of Assisi School.

Dedication of the SFA Memorial Garden

The St. Francis community is saddened by the death of a beloved former principal. Brother Maurus O’Malley, C.S.C., who served as principal of the boys’ school at St. Francis of Assisi died on May 9th, 2010.
Brother Maurus had recently moved to St. Joseph Center in Valatie, NY. He also recently celebrated 70 years as a Holy Cross brother.
His obituary is in the May 22, 2010 issue of THE TABLET.
